Meanwhile:

May I make a suggestion? The need to smack the thingy that holds the coffee to knock out the used coffee "plug" is a part of the process. But in an otherwise near-perfect environment, this is a LOUD and JARRING noise! This is because the stainless top helps this resonate, and does nothing to dampen the sound. I'm betting if you used a hunk of concrete or marble or granite underneath the used-coffee bucket, you could seriously minimize the LOUD and JARRING sound.
